About me

Since 2020 I am active as a researcher at the department of Orthopedics and currently doing my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Wim Rijnen, Dr. Jetze Visser, and Professor Wim Schreurs. Aside from my PhD, I am doing my Masters in Medicine which I expect to complete in the second half of 2024.

My research

The focus of my research is total hip arthroplasty (THA). THA is a widely applied procedure for osteoarthritis of the hip. My interest lies in THA in younger patients, where THA is performed less often due to a fear of complications and a possible future of multiple complicated revision procedures. Varying studies show the benefits of THA in these young patients. In my projects, we explore the long-term outcomes of THA in younger patients and of complicated revision procedures.
