I am Jasper van Liempt, a final-year medical student currently working as a student researcher in orthopedics. I compare the postoperative experience of patients with what doctors observe and measure. This allows me to provide patients with more information and help them make well-informed decisions.

My name is Mirjam de Vries,
and I’m currently pursuing my
master’s degree in Biomedical
Engineering at the University of
Twente. For my graduation
project, I moved to Nijmegen to
conduct research within the
ORL on the influence of
alignment variability on the
primary fixation of a cementless
femoral PEEK implant.
In my free time, I enjoy sports,
reading books, visiting the cinema, and spending time with my
friends.

I am Treske and I have a background in industrial design and human movement science. In September 2024 I started my masters biomedical engineering on the University of Twente and since March 2025 I’m involved with the ORL for doing my internship and master thesis.
My research:
My thesis is a designproject in which a surgical aimer is designed. The aimer to be designed is used for drilling a tunnel on posterior side of the tibial plateau. 3D model analysis, usability tests and cadaver tests are part of the project.

My name is Tiem Overvelde, and I am currently pursuing a master’s in biomedical engineering at the University of Twente. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Movement Sciences, after which I switched to the master Biomedical Engineering. For my graduation project, I am excited to be working with the ORL at RadboudUMC, where I will investigate design variations of custom acetabular triflange implants for hip revision surgery using finite element modeling.
Outside of my academic work, I am passionate about soccer, both playing and providing trainings sessions with youth teams. During the off-season, I also enjoy running and cycling with my road bike to stay active.
