About me
I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and my Master’s degree in Human Movement Sciences at Maastricht University. Right after my graduation, I started as a PhD candidate at the ORL in March 2025.
My research
My research focuses on a virtual doctor named Julia, designed to support patients suspected of hip or knee osteoarthritis before their first consultation with an orthopaedic surgeon. Julia engages in an open conversation with the patient to gather essential information, such as symptom location and duration, and the impact on work, hobbies, and social life. Patients can also access additional insights themselves. The aim is to ensure that both patient and orthopaedic surgeon enter the consultation better informed, allowing for a more targeted and effective discussion about treatment options.
